The Price of Freedom ChIII by =tabzthefish:icontabzthefish:

                                              Chapter Three

Tara looked up and found her brother standing in front her. She removed her hands from her ears and placed them around the assault rifle that lay beside her.
“I was just resting.” She said, standing to attention abruptly. Her brother moved closer. She saw him then as she had never seen him before. Twenty six years old, his face carried the scars of many battles. His eyes, dark green, showed evidence of maturity and experiance that not even the wisest men held. His dark hair was uncared for and messy, his tanned skin cut and bleeding. He was wearing, boots, jeans and nothing else but for a bullet proof jacket. He was their last hope.

The commander stood watching his sister. She had those same dark green eyes, full of passion and burning desires. Her dark hair and her tanned skin were like his but not scared and rough - they were smoothand soft.  He moved closer, placing his arms around her. He held her close, sighing deeply, she was a teenager robbed of childhood. There was no need for words; she loved him, he loved her. She rested her head on his shoulder, holding him tightly, not wanting to let go but remembering all the times in her life she spent with him. He was her guardian angel.

A tear rolled down her cheek and she quickly brushed it away. They moved apart. She still held his hand. She squeezed it and then let it go; it fell limply to his side. He stroked her cheek. “We both have jobs to do…” He said, taking off his bullet proof jacketand handing it to her. “I … know.” She said as she took the jacket. He turned and left as tears spilled down her cheeks.
